Board Members

The Aldo Leopold Association of Parents, Teachers and Others (ALAPTO) Board is as following for the 2018-2019 Academic Year

President – Stephen Utech

Stephen and his partner Houa have 3 children who attend Aldo Leopold with his fourth child attending shortly. He is a local entrepreneur who believes in the Aldo ethos of “learn by doing.” When he’s not working or volunteering, odds are high that he’ll be cooking, eating or thinking about eating.

Vice President – John Pennington

John and Karlyn Crowley have a daughter in second grade at Aldo. John is a professor of English at St. Norbert College and is editor of North Wind: A Journal of George MacDonald Studies.  His research specialty is Victorian fairy tales. On the board he is a member of the Communications and Fundraising committees. John also oversees ALAPTO’s website.

Account Receivable/Account Payable – Kristy Harr Krautkramer
Kristy is married to Joe Krautkramer, and they have four boys: one is in second grade, another in Kindergarten at Aldo. Kristy was a teacher in the Green Bay School District for the past 15 years. The last seven years were spent right here at Aldo, teaching middle school and 5th grade. Kristy’s role on the board is the Account Receivable/Account Payable (AR/AP) person and a member of the Finance Committee.
Communications – Carrie Nowak
Experiential Learning Fee Director – Dan Ritter

Dan Ritter  and Kelsey Heida have one student in 1st grade and another entering 4K next year. They are tag-teaming the coordination and tracking of ELF payments this year. They love getting lost in the woods and get unusually excited about well-designed spreadsheets. Dan is also on the AR/AP committee.

Events Coordinator – Rachel Burger

Rachel and Dave Burger’s daughter is in 2nd grade–in Ned’s class. Rachel is a Noon Hour Supervisor at King Elementary and is also part of Alapto’s Budget Committee. In their spare time they enjoy having adventures with family and friends.

Fundraising – Emilie Heil

Emilie and Patrick Heil have a son in second grade at Aldo Leopold. Emilie is the Community Programs Coordinator at Aldo. She is also a member of the ALAPTO Budget and Events committees. In their spare time, the Heil’s enjoy camping, music in all forms, and supporting the local community.

Secretary – Emily Genrich

Emily and her husband Eric have two children who happily attend Aldo Leopold–one is a 3rd grader, the other a 1st grader. Emily works as a special education teacher at King Elementary and enjoys making memories with her family, traveling, socializing with friends, and staying active on the soccer field. She is excited to be a part of ALAPTO this school year!

Principal of Aldo Leopold Community School – Trina Lambert

Trina is in her tenth year as principal of Aldo Leopold Coummity School.  As a board member of ALAPTO, Trina is committed to ensuring that the learning experiences of students are available and possible for all. With over 600 students enrolled at Aldo, the board is pursuing an agenda that will develop strong systems and defined roles so that future boards can focus on the work at hand.
